Valdosta Veterinary Associates is Hiring an Experienced Veterinary Technician Near Valdosta, GA

Valdosta Veterinary Associates is a 24/7/365 state-of-the-art emergency small animal veterinary hospital located in sunny Valdosta, Georgia. It serves a large region of southern Georgia and northern Florida extending north to Douglas, east to Brunswick, west to Bainbridge and south to Live Oak. We currently see a large percentage of emergency and sick care but also have routine, non-urgent, and referral appointments on weekdays. We are searching for an experienced RVT, CVT, VTS, VTNE veterinary technician to join our fun and energetic team!

VVA was founded by wife-team Jillian Courson, DVM and Veteran Bonne Mount, DVM in November 2020. They believe in providing patients with access to quality, up-to-date medicine - when it is needed most - and we invest in our practice accordingly. Our facility has five exam rooms with designated comfort room with separate entrance/exit, open treatment area with multiple exam/wet tables, fully stocked pharmacy, two surgical suites with surgical CO2 laser, flexible, and rigid scopes, built-in scavenger system, complete in-house Idexx laboratory, dental suite with digital dental radiology, radiology suite with digital radiology, ultrasound, two intensive care units, an isolation suite, and full bathroom with shower for staff. A cloud-based schedule and EMR are utilized.

REQUIREMENTS-

    *Certification in the state of Georgia (or willingness to transfer certification) and experience working as a veterinary technician *Ideal candidate can (under supervision of veterinarian) maintain hospital cleanliness and organization standards, clean, pack, and sterilize surgical instruments, clean and maintain equipment, obtain patient history from clients, educate clients on best medicine recommendations and discharge instructions, obtain written client consent for hospitalization and procedures, safely and effectively restrain patients for exams and procedures, monitor patients by obtaining TPRs, walking, and feeding patients, obtain radiographs, collect and process blood, urine, and fecal specimens for screenings and diagnostics, place IV catheters, start and maintain IV fluids with pump, administer oral, topical, ophthalmic, otic, and SQ, IM, and IV medications, operate syringe pump, scale and polish for dentals, surgical prep, monitor anesthesia, surgical recovery, perform CPR and assisted breathing, and intubation. *Ability to work well within a team-based environment *Ability to provide excellent client and patient service *Ability to listen and communicate effectively *Ability to multi-task effectively *Open availability (including nights, weekends, and holidays)
